about

Built in 2007, Dunescape is an eco-home finished in contemporary style right next to the dunes and beach at Camber Sands. The property is arranged over three floors, has two bedrooms, and sleeps up to five people. Solar power provides hot water throughout the summer, geothermal heat from the ground keeps the house snug during the winter, and a grass roof soaks up the rain water and minimises the visual impact of the development.

Unlike many other properties to let in the area, Dunescape is a mere 30 second stroll from the sand dunes and beach (excited kids can do it in about 10 seconds), and the small (20-unit) design-led development of which the property is part feels nothing like just another housing estate. It's a real holiday home.

On the ground floor you'll find the garage large enough for an average sized family car, or naturally this space may be used to store sports equipment such as windsurfing kit or kayaks. A washing machine, freezer, and a table tennis table are provided, too. Oak-faced stairs lead you up to the first floor where you will find a light, airy, and spacious living room. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead through to the large West facing deck which catches the afternoon and evening sun. An outdoor dining set is provided Easter to October, as are large potted plants to provide lush greenery and a modicum of privacy. On the patio below is a cold water shower to rinse off the sand after a hard day on the beach.

In the living room you will find a TV, DVD player, Sony CD stereo with USB connection, i-Pod docking station, wireless internet provided, and some unique items of furniture and artwork. Our tables were created by local company Carbon from reclaimed timbers from Rye Harbour. Our original canvas artworks feature local artists Gavin Luker, Gill Copeland, and Clive Sawyer.

Off the living room is the kitchen fitted with all mod cons including an eight-setting dishwasher, oven, four burner ceramic hob, microwave oven, extractor, coffee maker, and we even provide phosphate-free natural washing up liquid and dishwasher gel from Bio-D and Faith in Nature.

Half a flight of stairs takes you to the second bedroom and family bathroom. This bedroom may be configured to sleep up to three children or two adults in a combination of two single beds, or one single bed and a double. Organic cotton linen is provided for adults, and colourful blue bedding with seaside designs is provided for under-14s. This bedroom even has its own drum balcony which is just large enough to stand on and take in the sea air. The adjacent bathroom has a bath tub, shower over, loo and washbasin. Cruelty-free vegan toiletries and organic cotton towels are provided.

Up another half a flight of stairs and you'll arrive at the landing library and the enormous master bedroom. The king-sized bed is made from reclaimed timber from Rye Harbour, and features a decadently comfortable posture-paedic mattress and soft organic cotton bed linen. Floor-to-ceiling windows lead out onto a balcony where the spectacular Camber sunsets may be enjoyed.

Off the main bedroom is the ensuite with natural daylight, loo, washbasin, and a double-sized shower cubicle with power shower above. Cruelty-free vegan toiletries and organic cotton towels are provided.

We look forward to welcoming you to our holiday home.
