'...a real holiday home'

Built in 2007, dunescape is an eco-home finished in contemporary style right next to the dunes and beach at Camber Sands. The property is arranged over three floors, has two bedrooms, and sleeps up to five people. Solar power provides hot water throughout the summer, geothermal heat from the ground keeps the house snug during the winter, and a grass roof soaks up the rain water and minimises the visual impact of the development.

Unlike many other properties to let in the area, dunescape is a mere 30 second stroll from the sand dunes and beach (excited kids can do it in about 10 seconds), and the small (19-unit) design-led development of which the property is part feels nothing like just another housing estate. It's a real holiday home.

On the ground floor you have use of a generous garage complete with dartboard, washing machine, and room for a family car, kayaks, bikes, and windsurfing kit. Out the back is an outside cold water shower to rinse off the sand after a hard day on the beach. All living accommodation is upstairs.
